Still as a conservatory student, L. Yanovitsky was perfected himself in conducting under Paul Kletzki, Herbert von Karajan and Djemal Dalgat. |
detailed description of my work, discography, participation in competitions etc | As a musical director he has staged more than thirty operas at various opera houses of Russia and foreign theaters. He has also conducted about hundred symphony programs.
Disposing an enormous repertoire Maestro Janovitsky, at the same time, performs with a great success many unjustly forgotten or rarely staged masterpieces, such as symphonies of Bizet and Laul, as Ponchielli's «La Gioconda» and a juvenile Beethoven's Piano Concerto and other pieces.
He also presents - first time in Russia - the restored «Unfinished» symphony B minor, by Franz Schubert - in four movements version (Saint Petersburg Philharmonia, 1994).
The press has constantly marked "an outstanding success of the all Mr. Yanovitsky's interpretations " and "a peculiar aristocratic style of his performances". |
