Alexey Shalygin graduated from Rostov State Conservatory, have got 2 post-graduate diplomas (as a soloist-instrumentalist and a conductor).

Alexey Shalygin is a soloist of the Rostov`s philharmonic folk orchestra "Don", he plays with different orchestras and bands, as well as solo recitals. Alexey Shalygin is a laureate of several international competitions and festivals of accordionists, such as:
Glasgow Accordion Times festival 1992 (1-st place)
Klingenthal 1992 (4-th place in general rating, 1-st place among piano-accordionists)
Cup of the North 1997 (3-rd place)
Klingenthal 2001 jazz category (6-th place in general rating, 1-st place among piano-accordionists)
Peter-and-Paul Assembly of Harmonics 2001 (1-st place and the special prize of Boris Nikitin in jazz category)
As a singer, Alexey is a laureate of 2nd International Festival "Southern Star" in senior jazz vocal category (2008)

In addition to the classical way of accordion playing, Alexey Shalygin has great experience in working on cruise ships as an accordionist and singer of Russian and international songs with live trio.
He has a big library of synthesizer arrangements "minus-one" for accordion soloing and singing.
He sings in different languages with perfect accent. Preferable singing style is Sinatra-like "easy-listening".
Can make arrangements or scores for big-band, symphonic or folk orchestra, as well as for small groups like jazz trio.
Has good expieriense in electronic arrangements and sound engineering.
